About the artist

Watercolor on pure silk is considered one of the most demanding painting techniques and, for that very reason, is also one of the rarest art forms.
Silk is a gift of nature, produced by the caterpillar of the Bombyx Mori moth. Its cocoon measures only 5 centimeters, but it can produce up to 1,500 meters of a single continuous thread. It's a true miracle.
Ita Andrade dedicated the last 35 years of her life to working with this noble fabric, learning and perfecting the technique.
These artworks are the result of decades of dedication to the craft of creation, here focused on translating subtle and spiritual inspirations and feelings into work that is as worthy as possible of its true Source.
